Pena Athlete Jamil Farah – NordesteTrip and competitions // Strapless Kitesurfing
Strapless Kitesurfing in the Nordeste : Jamil Farah and friends in search of the best riding conditions in the Nordeste, Brazil. They took advantage to dominate the competitions in which they participated.
In September the Pena athlete Farah Jamil, traveled one month in the Nordeste to run the competition calendar with his friends Alberto Junior and Anderson Santos, both of Paraíba. They competed in two events, the first one was Praêra Kite Music in João Pessoa.
The event was held on the beach of Intermares with good wind conditions, but few waves, Jamil got the 3rd place, Alberto the 2nd and Anderson Santos the young talent of Paraiba took the first place.
Finished the first competition, the athletes headed to paradise Maracaípe Bay, Pernambuco for the second event organized by Eduardo “Rato” Fernandes, a big name in surfing and kitesurfing professional circles.
In Maraca the wind did not help much, stucked around 12 knots, and waves up to 1.5 meters, hindered the performance of athletes who had to take their big kites.
In the quarterfinals, the staff direction decided to cancel the race due to lack of wind conditions, leaving eight riders tied for fifth place, among them : Jamil Farah – CE, Alberto Junior – PB, Aderson Santos – PB, Bruno Pitanga – BA, Claudio Marroquim – PE.

I was very happy to climbed on the podium in both events and to represent my state and sponsors in a very positive light.
