Last year,
pretty much at the same time of the year in July,
I have met a young enthusiast talented photographer, Ryan Borne.
I was flying above a cliff and a drone was flying next to me; once I’ve landed I met this guy asking me if he could use some of the images for instagram : Off course I said, but why not filming some more !
That’s how the project of our GO SLOW film got to start.
I have quickly realised that Ryan was as much passionate as I was.
Fully committed to get the best of his filming and shooting sessions.
What we had in mind was to show that this fancy, beautiful place in the middle of the Caribbean, known for its wealthy and famous people coming on vacation, was also home for many nature and ocean’s lovers.
So we started filming on every sessions that we thought it was worth for lights / waves / wind etc… We wanted to show different sports and elements that we can play with on this tiny island: Kitesurfing into the waves was the main sport due to my background, then we added surfing, speed-flying soaring, surf foiling and freediving.
Due to a tight schedule from both of us, plus many weeks of not enough wind or waves or too much rain, it took more than 8 months to get the shots we were looking for. Not easy but definitely fun and challenging to make.
For those reasons we are even more stoked to now share this 300% passionate short movie; make sure you watch it on good size screen and with good quality sound to really get the vibes of the island 😉
